Jesus Christ: The Magical Teacher

John 11: 30-44
The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus
30 Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha met Him. 31 Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and consoling her, when they saw that Mary got up quickly and went out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there. 32 Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and [h]was troubled, 34 and said, “Where have you laid him?” They *said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept. 36 So the Jews were saying, “See how He loved him!” 37 But some of them said, “Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind man, [i]have kept this man also from dying?” 38 So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, *came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus *said, “Remove the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, *said to Him, “Lord, by this time [j]there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus *said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” 41 So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the [k]people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me.” 43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” 44 The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus *said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

Happy New Year Hawk fans! It's been awhile since I entertained you with a bit of supernatural and/or biblical wisdom. On this beautiful day of January 17, 2018, the year of our Lord or at least my Lord, I bring you the Lord. Jesus Christ most certainly needs no introduction. He is well known throughout the earth. Jesus’ magnificence, enlightenment, rebellion and most of all his miraculous feats have brought in legions of followers who still gather in his name today.
The teachings of Christ are the basis of the knowledge I bring to the table when I assist my clients. The above scripture is my favorite teaching of Christ. When I read this scripture, I feel the compassion, faith, supernatural power, and love Jesus bestows to his followers. I want my students and clients to know that this is the same place I come from when I am leading them to spiritual evolution. "Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me." John 11: 41-42
Jesus always taught his community with the sincerity and holiness of the holy spirit. There were no extremes in his message. His greatest commandment was to love our neighbors like we love ourselves. To many, that message may not appear magical or profound. Nevertheless, treating our neighbors like we treat ourselves can be the biggest challenge placed in front of us. Our treatment of others most certainly represents the mirror of our internal heart.
When Jesus spoke to his congregation, he manifested the title of teacher and messiah. The knowledge he incorporated into the minds of thousands challenged the belief systems of many religious leaders. This belief system also created a religious culture that has dominated world for close to 2,500 years. Can you imagine being revered for centuries? Your message has to be pretty amazing.
A couple weeks ago, a student of mine, whom I love very much, called me a ‘magical teacher’. I was honored by this title, but I also knew that this title belonged to someone higher than me. There would be no Hawk Spirit without the wisdom of Christ. I embrace his love and guidance always. Jesus has given me amazing insights on how to achieve a better life. He helps me remain in faith by reminding me that God is listening. Jesus gives me the strength to be silent and be at cause so I can hear the answers I seek.
1 Kings 19:11-13New International Version (NIV)
11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
I hope that the New Year brings you a chance to invoke the Lord’s scripture, commandment and/ or energy into your life and the life of others. We can all be magical teachers by just loving and acknowledging one another. Jesus encouraged this in his life and in the life of his followers. This behavior played a role in his legacy and the legacy of his disciples.
When you are just a memory, what would your legacy read? Time will tell and so will your actions.
May the fellowship of the Holy Spirit always be with you. God Bless You all.
